StartMenuPlus8

Windows 8 StartMenu Replacement Fully Configurable, includes Win8 Apps, Win8 Search, Complete List/Selection of Control Panel Options and Standard Folders, Internet (IE/Firefox/Chrome) Favorites/History List/Selection and User Defined Task Menus to display a Menu of Application, Folders, Commands, Win8 Apps, Files that the User requires to perform a particular Task. The User(or Administrator centrally) can define individual Task Menus for each of the Tasks the User Performs

StartMenuPlus8 - the Advanced Start Menu replacement for Windows 8.
Windows 8 no longer has a Desktop Start Menu and there are several routines e.g. "Start8" and "Classic Shell" which provide a replacement.
However "Start8" etc are basically designed to make Windows 8 appear to a User as a
Windows 7 clone.
-------------------------------------

Why should you consider StartMenuPlus8?

Like many of the other Start Menu Replacement Applications(SMRAs), StartMenuPlus8 provides a Desktop Start Menu, with a similar format, to the one provided a standard, in Windows 7.

This is essential if you plan to rollout out Windows 8 without having to either retrain yourself or your Users.

However when a new Operating System is rolled out, it is not unreasonable to expect to see improvements which justify the effort and inconvenience of the upgrade.

This is where StartMenuPlus8(SMP8) wins
a) Like Start8 and a few other SMRAs SMP8
1.Displays the Modern UI Apps in the Start Menu.
2.Provides an automatic switch on boot up to the Desktop.

b) SMP8
1.Is much more configurable

i. The Menu Fonts and the Icon sizes can be changed from very small to very large to suit the User's Preference

ii. The Options (including Standard File and Control Panel Options) are all selectable

iii. The Ability to centrally configure the Menus and/or restrict what functions an Individual User can use.

2. Has the Ability to Display/Select the Internet Favorites/History from IE10, FireFox, and Chrome Browsers, with a
"Standard" Search like in Start Menus to display matching WebPages in Favorites/History, along with the capability of adding regularly called WebPages from Task Menus (see below) dramatically improves the User Ability of the System

3. Provides the User with the capability of generating their own
"Task" menus which display all the Command, WebPages, Files and Data that the user needs for the Tasks (Microsoft recommend that regularly used Command are pinned the TaskBar BUT that is only possible for a few Commands). SMP8 is effectively unlimited..

e.g. a Personal one with Mail, News, weekly reports, reference webpages etc

then individual one for each of the User's Tasks.
1.Has the ability to call the Windows 8 Search function (on the Modern UI) directly from the SMP8 Start Menu.

The net result is a very User Friendly version of Windows which is both easy for any User to utilize and setup.

Companies can setup a company-wide Task Menu so all their staff use the same "Start Menu"

This is of interest because it is not possible to programmatically reposition/delete the Icons on a Windows 8 Modern UI Start Menu so they have to be individually manually changed and there is no way of
preventing the User from changing it again.
