Newsbin is a multithreaded news robot that automatically downloads and decodes binary posts to usenet newsgroups. Newsbin will take full advantage of high bandwidth internet connections by allowing multiple simultaneous connections to your news server or servers. It re-assembles multi-part posts across multiple servers and includes real time rendering of thumbnails when downloading images. Newsbin supports regular expression parsing for complex filtering capabilities based on subjects or filenames and provides file size filtering. A spam filter function identifies likely spam posts that are either password protected RAR files or RAR files containing trojan executable files.
Internet Search : Search Usenet via the Internet (optional service). Posts matching the search criteria are displayed and can be selected for download. Users receive 10 free searches per month. A subscription for unlimited searches is $5.00 per month (3 month minimum). Standard subscription is a little as $2.50 per month (6 month or 1 year subscription).
Local Search: You can search all your locally stored headers by keyword or using Regular Expressions if you choose not to use our comprehensive search database via Internet Search.

Newsbin Internet Search
Our Internet Search service is an optional feature which is integrated in the Search tab within Newsbin. We index most of the popular Usenet binaries groups except the picture groups. Groups are added upon request. Searching is free to everyone but you can only queue search results for download during the first 10 searches. Make sure the dropdown box is set to "Internet" and any searches will be sent over the Internet as a query into our database containing references to over 1000 days of Usenet posts from most of the alt.binaries groups. Results are returned within seconds and are displayed in the Search tab. You can then choose which posts you want to download from your News Server just like you normally would from a Newsbin Post list.

Newsbin was one of the first binaries-only newsreaders and is the only one still actively in development for more than 10 years. As long as Usenet exists, we plan to continue improving Newsbin and keep it at the top of the heap of Usenet Downloading Software.
